Six minutes of club bell shoulder exercises.
Forty 12kg snatches on each arm.
Three eight minute routines of alternating between two exercises, 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off. The exercises were 16kg squat presses and 20kg kettlebell swings, 24kg cleans and burpees, side-to-side jumps and mountain climbers.

60 minute yoga before breakfast.
Interval run on treadmill, same as last time: 10 minute warm up, 9x3 minute intervals, 5 minute cool down. I was faster this time though!

Yesterday was upper body workout at the gym, and 30 minute yoga.

Just some relaxing yoga - had a horrible headache so was hoping the yoga would help, but no such luck :(

A whopping 15 minute easy jog with 2x15 seconds strides. Just a little pre-race shake-out.

An hour ride, 30 minute run & 20 minute swim.

Yesterday I was in Newcastle so I ran over most of the bridges that cross the river, including the one you run in the Great North Run. It was a cool way to see the city.

Yesterday was a hike (running up and down part of South Mountain) and a walk/run.
Today I'm super sore from the hike and did some yoga, which was awesome.

Workout A with just minor changes in weight.

Spoiler: show
Thirty 16kg weighted glute raises.
Thirty windmills - 10kg above, 16kg below.
Sixty 24kg kettlebell swings.
Front squats with two 16kg kettlebells (sets of 3, 3, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5, 4, 4 and 3).
Twenty five military presses with 25kg - disappointed that I've gone down a couple of kg, but it could just be a blip.
Fifty bent over rows with 20kg.


Followed by 10 minutes rowing and stretches.

I did some arm weights and some squats. Then I did a 4 mi walk/run at the gym. So much harder than outside where I can get distracted by nature!

Workout B with minor alterations to weights.

Thirty 16kg weighted glute raises.
Five minutes of Turkish get-ups with 8kg and one minute with 12kg.
Thirty double cleans with two 16kg kettlebells and twenty with two 12kg kettlebells.
55kg deadlifts (sets of 3, 3, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5, 4, 4 and 3).
Incline presses with two 12kg dumbbells.
Lateral pull-downs with 40kg.

My routine is being switched tomorrow, probably for the same weights on squats, deadlifts and military press but in a ladder structure, ie descending sets of 6, 5, 4, etc.
