i just can't bear the idea of taking a second mortgage out to buy gf flour blends. has anyone made their own? i know one can pulse oats in a food processor to make flour, but would that work with other grains?

we're currently under a GF experiment at our home. my spouse has had chronic pain for 6+ years and enough is enough. i've suggested a GF trial, to no avail--but our doctor finally convinced mr. j to get on the wagon.

I would suggest buying a cheap coffee grinder. I use it for millet, amaranth, and quinoa flour. Those grains are probably too tough for a food processor.

that will work? i was worried that the seeds would be too tough for the grinder, but duh--coffee beans are pretty tough.

huh--thanks mihl! i ground some oats, millet, and flax seeds in the grinder tonight and made savory pancakes to go with a tofu scramble.
